Okay so next time you fry something that isn’t meat, try to go for a panko breading as the third step instead of going back to the flour. Put the panko in a food processor for 10-15 seconds to make it coat the item more evenly and it should be completely dry on the outside. If it isn’t, try going back to the egg wash and then back into the panko. Also try to fry it for longer until it’s golden brown. This grilled cheese is just covered in barely cooked flour

The way to get the perfect crust on a grilled cheese is use a very thin amount of mayo on the outside of each piece of bread i know it sounds weird but it works

It's called a Monte Cristo or croute monsieur. If you add an egg, it's a croute madame. It usually has ham in it as well (but we don't eat pork, so ..). It's a classic French sandwich. Great with fruit.
