I fell and broke my Greater Trochanter in May. I’m a 32-year-old amputee with bad bone health and landed on my hip/femur on the amputation side when I fell in the bathroom. I’m used to extreme pain, but this was one of the worst I’ve experienced. Ironically, this saved my life because it turned out that I was in the end stages of Graves’ Disease without even knowing it. Was told I would’ve died by the end of summer without the fall

Hello, I really found your video so informative thank you so much. I just had a hip fracture(subtrochanteric fracture)and now it's been one week after having a pfn surgery, i have started the physical therapy and i am doing exercises 2 hours everyday but its hurting soo much and I'm wondering if i should tell my physical therapist to go easy on me or if it's the best for me to recover soon?😢 I am 28 years old and i come from Africa, thank you.

great review, yet if you could make more focus on common muscle incisions with the surgeries, it highly effects the exercises and the stats overall...also another question that i had many times but was't able to contact a surgeon about it :is it normal for the rods to be out of the bones ?as in the neck of femur Xray i saw the rods in the neck of femur going out of the greater trochanter

Hi Khalid, great video, my first placement was in a neck of femur ward.
Just wanted to know your thoughts regarding the use of total hip precautions in many trusts, despite recent evidence showing contradicting them.

Some of the exercises you showed could conflict with precautions

Hi khalid I fell of a push bike and landed on my hip Friday night. Had surgery Saturday for screws or something, I’m 32 and I’m really scared cos a lot of things in google say it’s bad. I walked a little this morning on crutches but can’t lift that leg on its own really scared of what’s to come

That’s interesting, so I had a garden 2, But was that bad I had it fixed with cannulated screw and a IM nail, still recovering, very painful

Are the screws usually removed from the bone after healing?

Hello Sir,
My age is 34, I had an accident (self fall) and just done with the femoral neck surgery (garden 2) with CC screws and there is no other injuries on body apart from this. Doctor suggested 30 days bed rest and then they will check the status. Now it's my 18th day and I'm on bed only since 18 days. I have no other health issues.

So my question is will it be a very serious issues for me in future? Won't I be normal and strong like before? Please guide and tell me your view on this .

I broke the ball of my hip joint in half right in the middle of the ball needless to say I had to have a total hip replacement. I thought I bruised my muscle and hobbled around on crutches for 3 weeks it wasn’t until I came down with Covid pneumonia and ended up in ICU that I got the hip fixed. I was 68 at the time and have severe osteoporosis. I will say one thing the hip replacement was so much easier the. My knee replacement.
