Democrats can't stop pushing George Floyd's death as 'emblematic': Douglas Murray

A recent tweet from Barack Obama marking the second anniversary of George Floyd's death following the mass shooting in Texas is "seriously tone-deaf," according to author Douglas Murray.

"In the wake of the atrocity in Texas, you don't need to add anything else, you really don't," Mr Murray told Sky News host Rita Panahi.

"The issue, really with this is ... the fact that the Democrats and others just cannot stop pushing this narrative about the George Floyd case as if there was something about it that was emblematic - first of policing in the US, and secondly, of the US as a whole."

His death IS emblematic of what happens to people who spend their lives doing drugs and engaging in violent crimes.

When I was a kid (Boomer here) folks were considered to be responsible for themselves and actions/choices had consequences. Today, for some insane reason, nobody is responsible for anything and no actions are allowed to have consequences as that would be "RACIST!" or some such garbage. I think the famous scholar, Sir Sam Newman's, said it best when he asked why a man of such criminal violent and immoral behaviour was being commemorated as a hero? As a man every American mother would be blessed to see their daughter in the arms of because the man celebrated known as "George Floyd, was a piece of shit." not some martyr for the greater good. His murder was disgusting, but his life was unworthy of a country memorial or recognition.
