Connect USB and SD to iPad but not iPhone

Review of 2 in 1 OTG USB adapter and SD cardreader to Apple Dock converter. Sold on Ebay and Amazon as Camera Connection Kit. Somewhat works on iPad, iPhone users suck balls as usual.

the sd card reader in this device is wired as a USB thumbdrive. So it works out of the box on the iPad. For iPhone, you should search for a way to enable USB mass storage. i would start with iFile forums.

prove what? the adapter sells both for iphone and ipad, iOS is the same on both ipad an iphone, but to enable camera connection kit you have to jailbreak iphone. ipad works out of the box. That's the only difference.

Is there a jailbreak that allows you to use the connection kit to read SD cards? I only found Cameraconnector and it only supports some USB devices...

Personally, I think Apple hardware is exceptional and the design is most times awesome, but the idiotic proprietary stuff, unopenness, policing and limiting both features and users is what drives me away from their stuff. I don't like being told how I should or should not be using the devices I shelled out quite a few $ for.

1) My iPad is jailbroken, and it doesn't help. Even though photo transfer kit is officially support by apple on iPads.
2) Apple has even more idiotic limitations for iPhones, which don't support camera connection kit out-of-the-box. So to try using them on iPhone Apple forces you to jailbreak, void wranty and use iFile which is unnoficial.

well, your best bet then is to through away the limitation and unleash yourself with android.
There's absolutely no sane reason why such a simple task like plain file copy from a memory card should cause so much trouble and disappointment.
