Is Pokémon On Switch REALLY THAT BAD?

The biggest issue I have with mainline Pokemon on the switch is the fact that they take one step forward and then three steps back. It just makes no sense to me.

I can comfortably say with 100% confidence that the most complete Pokémon experience you can have is still on the 3DS. That should be embarrassing for any company.

I didn't know the Pokemon games don't have cloud save, so when I sold my switch and bought an OLED, while booting up Sword I realized all my progress was gone 💀

The best Pokémon game on Switch isn’t even on this list: Pokken Tournament DX. As a competitive fighting game player I can comfirm this game hit all the right notes. Strong roster, fun gameplay, great graphics and music. It was perfect. Pokken 2 make it happen Namco/TPC! I know it’s developed by a 3rd party studio, but within the confines of it’s respective genre, it is to this day the most polished finished pokémon game ever released.

Hard disagree about Mystery Dungeon. It's one of the best spinoff series of pokemon and is arguably better than a lot of the mainline games even

The only Pokemon Switch game that I can say was the best they offered was Legends because it had everything we wanted for Pokemon to do and more.

They said Dexit was because so they could have more time for better animations and graphics which was a complete lie. Not only are the graphics almost as bad as the PS2 but the worst part was that all the 3D pokemon models were reused from sun and moon and x and y. If you reused all the models anyway then transfer all the pokemon models which would take a month and a half to do at worse

I played Violet a year late, when the dlc was already out. So my experience with Scarlet and Violet were amazing cause the bugs and glitches were improved by the time I got the product. I did not get the glitches people were talking about. I got to enjoy the amazing story of Paldea, Arven as well as the dlc. I think timing is key. For me Scarlet Violet are the second best, first being Legends Arceus

Saying that "you're not missing out on much" if you do not play Pokemon Mystery Dungeon is doing the game a bit of a disservice. Most of the Mystery Dungeon fanbase has known for years that it is more of a divisive game when it comes to gameplay, but that does not mean that the game isn't really good. A lot of players agree that the mystery dungeon games has some of the best stories in the franchise, especially Explorers of Sky. The story of the Mystery Dungeon games is only really rivalled by Black and White when it comes to the pokemon franchise, except you typically build even stronger attachments in Mystery Dungeon.

Take this as a big recommendation (to people in general), please try one of the games (I recommend starting with Rescue Team or Explorers) and then decide if it is for you or not.
If you are one of those few people that already loves dungeon crawlers, then you will have a hard time finding a better game series than this.

I know people are allowed their own opinion to the games, but please don't spread misinformation that you're not really missing out on much by not playing this kind of game (this statement kind of needs to let people know that it's based on opinion, there are tens of thousands, probably hundreds of thousands of players who would disagree), it is already well known within it's fanbase that some individuals are indifferent to the game and some rank it above even the mainline games.

Funnily enough, my first playthrough of Legends Arceus reminded me a lot of the ranger trilogy and no other game has felt like it since. I think it’s a mix of the quest system, the humor, and the boss fights. Anyways great vid (plz make one about the ranger games)

While I don’t think main line Pokémon games on the switch are as bad as many people say they are I do believe they are the weakest line up of main line game to date. They all just feel like one step forward and two steps back. That said though Legends and Mystery Dungeon GX are the best Pokémon games on the switch which is sad because they’re spin offs.

It disappoints me that these games have led people to believe Game Freak has hit the hardware ceiling for the Nintendo Switch.

Legends Z-A is the final chance for Game Freak to fully and properly utilize the Switch hardware to something actually comparable to Breath of the Wild, which would still be insane considering the number of games that had released in between that time.
