There was a time when I was having a very difficult period of my life, and was seriously considering suicide. I knew exaclty how I would do it - in my room, all alone, while listening to my favorite, most calming songs while I drfited away to nothing. This song was a high priority in that list. It's just such a breathtakingly beautiful song, and it talks about death but has still such a soothing and soft feeling to it, as if it were whispering to you "It's okay, everything is okay, this won't hurt, you'll see". It makes me view death in a much more serene way, making me forget all the pain and mysterly and incertainty that are often tied to the concept, even if only for the duration of the song. Truly such a unique piece of art.


My mental health is in a much better state nowadays, and I am happy that I actually didn't kill myself back then, even if life is still hard to deal with and depression sometimes still bites me in the ass. The worst is the constant fear that those suicidal thoughts could come back some day. I don't think I would be able to deal with that situation again if they were.


I still often listen to this song, because it still has the power to soothe me a lot. It feels like a pat in the back, reminding me that not even death is as bad as it sounds, and it's not like it motivates me to just go and kill myself, but more like it motivates me to keep going and try to see the positives in a bad situation, like miku is doing while singing this song.
