Someone dies a sudden death and leaves a loved one griefstricken and on the verge of suicide. At first the deceased soul wants his/her loved one to continue living on despite his/her death, but relents and hence "Even if you die i'll forgive you".

I could only imagine a spirit of a loved one who died that had a strong spiritual connection to someone still living, linking them forever. They never ages because they were dead and that person never change because they never pulled out of the depression of loosing that person. The person was hinting and urging at suicide so that person could keep them company. They're saying that they'll forgive them if they commit suicide to see them. That's all I got from it.

This might be the "crab mentality" since "I extinguish the little lamp of hope that holds you up" implies the person with the crab mentality got the other person killed because they wanted the other person to suffer their problems and now feels guilty

I've always thought that the "ghost" in this song is the personification of the depression that the person being sung to has. That it, it's them telling themselves this. Mostly because depression can often feel like someone else whispering things into your ear.
