No matter how many views this video gets, I got the most value and connection out of this one...

14:24 The sacrifice is the biggest thing. The drive to put in the time even when you have no traction, views or subscribers. It's giving up other things because you care about this the most. It sucks, but everyone I know with that attitude has eventually made something of it!

We hear you and know the situation you find yourself in. As professional wildlife and travel photographers we spend many days, weeks and months in the African bush shooting wildlife for our books and stories, sometimes with little to show for our efforts. But, as you say, you have to push through - keep committed and in the end, with a little luck, the results will be worth the sacrifices. And, many times they are.

Social life? What's that? Holidays? Same thing! But, yes, the creative freedom is just wonderful and, it sure beats sitting in an office working 9 to 5.

Keep going man - we really enjoy what you are doing!

A brutally honest message. I’ve been a subscriber since 2020 and no one works harder than you. I salute you.

It’s amazing how many creators struggle with work life balance, I think majority need to focus on a good online store and email marketing then focus on less more important content.

I know a photography creator with 1 mill + on instagram still living at home, while I have a tiny channel just under 10k and YouTube is a second income, It could fully support me now but I dont think I’ll ever stop client work as client work is fun and create to much opportunities.

I think if your struggling with work life balance focus on these 3 things

1. What makes the most money
2. What do you enjoy the most
3. What’s the most time efficient to make

All the other content is great, but does it support you and your passion!

I am sorry to hear of your struggles but happy you shared with us. I am a fan of your videos and enjoy your channel and teachings. There is no success without struggle, if there is no struggle, there is no progress. Arnulfur YOU have made progress and you will continue to do so. Take some time for you and your family in 2024 and then get back on YouTube to your followers and fans and continue to inspire and motivate us! We need YOU! I along with many others will be watching. Happy New Year 🎉 and wishing you all the best in 2024! ❤

I've been an amateur photographer shooting landscapes and motorsport since 2008, and I love your channel. Ive been lucky enough to meet some Icelandic folk, and you all have such a positive outlook.

Im finally getting to visit your country this summer, and can't wait.

I know for a fact, that much more people can relate to this than you'd think, believe me. I have the highest respect for the amount of work you put in and the amount of sh*t you're willing to eat (as you said it). And no matter what you'll have to do in order to live, even turning your back to your dreams for a bit, we will still respect you. Keep on going my man!

Thank you so much for your straight honesty about the reality of content creation my friend! It's like everything in life, people just see (some only want to see) the tip of the iceberg and underestimate the amount of work which is hiding below the surface. Specially young people forget that content creation still requires work and effort like every other traditional job.
I picked my channel up again after our second daughter was born this year, when things were slightly managable again and I do my best to do my YT reps while the ladies are sleeping.
But like you I put my family first.
Every time I see a piece of content from you I just appreciate the hard work and effort you put on to the table. It's also good to know you have friends in the creator space, which go through the same pain like you and I hope you guys have an eye on each other to prevent burnout, since at least 3 of you in the EU north I know (Peter, Teppo and you) are all the head of your families.
Happy new year to you and your family and stay healthy my friend :)

Thank you for making this video and for being so open and candid with us about your experiences, your personal life, and how many obstacles there are to not just making meaningful and high-quality video content, but doing it consistently over the long-term. This was very informative and helpful. This is the first video I have watched of yours, but after seeing the quality of your work, I will be taking a close look at your channel library to see what else I can learn from you. God bless you, your family, and all of your creative endeavors.

Whew! The transparency here is just too good. I can go on and on about it but I won’t.

I think transparency is what makes our human experiences so inspirational for one another. Maybe my age is peeking through lol (pushing 40) but geez! There’s nothing greater than true highs and lows and the power to get through

Follow your heart and your dreams because you don't get time back. Dreams without goals are just dreams. I admire your drive and passion. It's not about what you have, it's what you do with what you have!!!! Keep up the great work. Dave

Frábært myndband! Takk! Þú gefur mér innblástur. Ég er líka Íslendingur í Svíþjóð - Trettio år senare, Mig hefur lengi langað til að búa til vídeó um personal development á Youtube, en aldrei komist lengra en í fyrsta myndbandið (I am my own worst critic). Eftir að hafa horft á þitt myndband er ég ótrúlega mótíveraður að "Just Do It". Aftur, takk! 🙏
