The reason I went with a. access Cab is simple. Cheaper and has an actual bed that you can use to do things for work.

On another note, that Rockwool is awesome stuff. I used it when I built my shop and it is so superior to fiberglass insulation in so many areas. Good choice on the truck and the insulation.

This year I bought my first Tacoma.. it’s a SR5 access cab 4x4 with the 4 cylinder engine. It has the mini seats in the back too. Not very useful, but my 7 year old fits back there. We have a 2nd vehicle for when she outgrows the mini Tacoma seats lol

Don’t forget they also make a “utility package” access cab (only available with 4 cylinder SR models) that actually SUBTRACTS from the msrp and deletes the rear seats! Plus the access cabs have more rated payload capacity due to lower curb weight

100% agree brother, truck beds are becoming turds, what's the F"N point of the truck then? Trucks need to be trucks!

I just came back to a Tacoma Access Cab from a '18 F150 with the 6.5 ft bed. The Tacoma 6.1ft bed isnt much different. A midsized atv still fits in the bed with tail gate closed

I wanted to get the double cab with a longer bed like the access cab but that won't fit my driveway

So I settled with the access cab

Here in 24 and those short beds are all over the place. I'm told it's because it's the new "family car". I want a 6 foot access cab and they're not easy to find these days.

I sought out an Access Cab SR for the very same reason. Hay instead of insulation, but yeah. Wanted to be able to carry enough for 2 weeks worth for my wife’s horse, and I wanted that extra 500 pounds of cargo capacity the double cab takes up.

I hauled 12 foot steel plate on a plywood sheet in my 5 foot bed. No problem. A flag

You can get the Double Cab in a 6’ bed also. Hard to Find but I have a 2016 Tacoma Double Cab Off Road with a 6’ bed. I had to search for it but they are out there! I refused to buy a truck with a useless 5’ bed.

I just got a double-cab long-bed at msrp.

I have a 2005 toyota tacoma crew cab long bed. It's best of both worlds. Delete the back seats and build slide out tool boxes.

They have 6 foot beds in a double cab here in Canada.

Nice truck. After being in Tundras I don't think I can go back to Tacoma. I've had 2006 Tacoma double cab, 2012 Tacoma double cab, 2015 Tundra double cab now have 2020 Tundra Trd Pro.

You didn’t like the decals on the truck ?

I literally use my bed every day. I need a back seat ever 10 years or so. (no kids) Easy choice for me. I have a topper and a platform with a mattress pad I can put in the back. You just can't pull that off with a 5' bed.

Hey will a 42 inch riding lawn mower fit in bed?

I use mine with a slide in truck camper, yes one made specfically for the Tacoma. It weighs around 1000 lbs and needs the 6 1/2 bed, truck handles it just fine!
