it's no wonder ultra high framerates result in deminishing returns.... going from 30 to 40fps (10fps) results in a quite massive 8ms improvement, same as going from 60 to 120fps (60fps). Meanwhile going from 120 to 240 will only yield a 4ms improvement. this is highly likely the reason why FPS is still used, because it makes stronger cards look exponentially stronger to consumers when showcased in performance graphs, but in reality, both perceptually and pure rendering time performance. you actually don't gain as much as those graphs tell you.

I'm going to wait and see what AMD releases start of november. Then decide what's worth my money.

Like REAL ESTATE the more fools go out and are willing to pay the price the companies just keep raising their prices. Stop buying their top end GPUs or CPUs and eventually they will decrease the prices.

I bought 3080 2 weeks ago and I'm glad I did that. After latest Nvidia 4000 series release, the prices of 3000 gen has gone up! People probably think 4000 is not worth the price / energy consumption and they are buying 3000 series instead.

I'm sitting on a gtx 1080 ti and looking for an upgrade. I'm going to wait and see how low the prices will be dropping before making any decisions. But the thing is that I need to upgrade my monitor if I want to get any noticeable differences. Then the upgrading price is going to be quite high and I don't know if I'm willing to go that high. But we'll all have to wait and see. Plus I've wanted to buy a VR-headset for quite some time now, I guess that just have to wait.

1060 is the most used gpu on steam cause the most played games on steam are CSGO, etc low demanding games, and not high demanding AAA ray tracing games like Cyberpunk. the average user don't play CSGO, etc games at 240 fps so a 1060 or similar performance gpu is the sweetspot.

My old 1080ti is still going strong. Nvidia can #$%# off.

40xx will come out next year, the 30xx will stay until next year in that price range.
Was confirmed 2 weeks ago.
I'm still happy with my 1080.

I need a 30 series GPU so bad, not for gaming but to render out my animation movie and Nvidia had to kill my dream off 🙄

If you are getting less than 60FPS on the games you enjoy, that's when you upgrade. Thats massively going to depend on what Resolution you are using. my 1080 is no longer an option with a 4k screen so, time to upgrade. But don't buy anything until AMD AND Intel have blown their load and have been dissected by the brilliant internet nerd brigade.

I'm sitting on a 2080. I'm actually interested in the 4080 16 GB but depending on the real performance numbers, I may just upgrade to a 3090. The interest comes out of the work that i do involving 3D rendering/ animation in Blender.
I will have to wait on the testing to see if it's worth it for me.

Was going to get a 4080 but saw the specs and price (of the founders addition, 3rd party will be higher) and decided to get a Gigabyte 3080 ti from Newegg for $829. I slightly under volt it and it draws between 280-300w, not too bad and my frames have almost doubled from my 2070 Super😊

I won't upgrade still late 2024 which is around 7 years after I got my current PC

well this can go either way. people selling their 3000 series to buy the 4000 series (why tho) and those 2nd hand market prices also forcing retailers to drop their prices, OR people getting used to the idea that gpus will be expensive because this time nvidia themselves put a high msrp and therefore the 3000 series cards no longer falling in value anymore and retaining it and perhaps even slightly increasing since they are still cheaper than 4000 series and demand may increase for them after people who waited for the 4000 series reveal get disappointed and buy the remaining 3000 series stock instead. And when that stock dwindles (and it will, since 4000 series is replacing it and 3000s arent being manufactured anymore) they will stop becoming cheap. Look for example how the 2000 series cards never reached the bargain bin area and simply moved on to become cost inefficient but in a different way (low power for the price)

I have a 1070 with 8gb of ram and it still runs everything on ultra solid 60fps and if I don't limit the FPS it goes beyond 60fps.
If your rig runs everything on ultra just buy yourself something else

Hey man can you do a similar video on whether it's worth buying building a ryzen 7000 pc or just going for a cheaper ryzen 5000 one ?

It will be a cold day in hell before I pay what they are asking for these cards. I'd rather not game at all.

Stil using a 2080 ti strix that i bought for 50% of the price.I will just wait untill the 4000 series, so the 3080 ti strix will go down in price and i will sell the 2080ti strix and buy the 3080TI.Always buying a pre-gen card or cpu and let the guys that wanna have everything new each year and pay the premium price.Did the same with the 9900k (Bought new for 200 euro) and build a pre-gen system with 1 year old parts with still warranty that will at least be good for another 3-4 years.
