Crotch Cooker... gives new meaning to a Weenie Roast.

Those light up trekking poles are fantastic for night hiking. The company told me the same thing about not using them at night but that's just lawyer speak. I have a night hiking adventure video coming out soon that has me using them and I'm lit up 4x brighter than my friends with me. For anyone wanting more info on them I have a full review video on them already.

I would probably never buy the vast majority of them, but weird gear is fun in all other respects. To see, to look at in the store and having friends, or nice guys like MyLifeOutdoors, test them out.

More? Yes please!

BRO! I recently listened to a few of your interviews on Spotify. While I think your gear videos are awesome, I want to see more of your jokes and more of you letting your guard down on the channel. Youre hilarious and I think you have a great personality that would have lots of people who wouldnt even be into backpacking watching your videos. You deserve a million subs bro! I think you will get there. Thanks for all the insanely valuable content. Youre a saint, sir. Much love!

I was literally laughing out loud at this one. 😂 Great job with a fun, entertaining series. Makes me want to find weird gear for you to test. “Let’s see what else he’ll do!”🤣

Love your "weird gear" series! fascinating in a bizarre kind of way. The trekking pole lights are in fact quite cool looking. I used to have one of those inertia pads. I tried to give it to my daughter for a girl scout thing and even she wouldn't use it.

I will not comment the crotch bag cooker but I’ll ask a question about the trekking pole water filter: How do you keep it from clogging when you walk in muddy fields?🤔

I can see how the filter trekking pole would be quite useful! Same with the flashlight equipped poles. Thanks for the video, Keep up the great work!

Those light-up trekking poles would be perfect for my trekking pole tent! No need to carry a mini dome light like I usually do.

Isn't 96f the worst temperature for food safety? Honestly, I eat warm bread snacks out of my running flipbelt, but body temp meat is a hard no.

That "cooking utensil" at 3:57 reminds me of Robin Williams in "Good Morning, Vietnam".
.
Also, these have been around for hundreds of years. Scotsmen call it a sporran.

This was amazingly amusing, much thanks for the chuckles and broad smiles 😊

Thanks for this video.
I've just realised that I couldn't care less about hot food so maybe I could skip carrying a stove. Also I love the lights on the walking poles when you use them in the tent. I have never used walking poles but I do need a light for my tent

Seen it around and the curiosity finally got the best of me when I bought the xframe pad about a year ago at a reduced price. I think it was about $50. Didn't come with a little pump and the valve was the more common Klimyt flip type which is compatible with a pump sack I got with their brand of inflatable raft. The pad actually works for me. I cannot afford those other pads. This packs small and has been reliable. Inflates quickly, about three breaths, if without pump. It does fit my body and I do sleep on my side comfortably, on my stomach a little less comfortably. I use a tyvek groundsheet underneath but it's very much puncture resistant. Camping in snow of the winter, I put a ccf mat between the two. Part of the appeal of the xframe was the sleeping bag would maintain some loft underneath because it would fill into those spaces. It might be true but not sure. I was pretty warm every night going from upstate ny to virginia by bike last winter. I wanted to try this because I was reading Ray Jardine and there was more emphasis on site selection and less on thick pads they had back then. Following those ideas, I'd say has helped make this weird minimal piece of gear to be sufficient.

The trekking poles could be pretty useful. Both the filter and the lights. As mentioned, is nice having the tent lit up at night, especially during the shoulder seasons. The filter pole could be beneficial to some. But I'll stick with my sawyer and katadyn filters.

I've seen trekking poles with mittens that can be attached to the handles.
Brilliant idea

Absolutely brilliant to watch as per usual.

Steven said the two words we seldom hear in backpacking videos...."enjoy yourself". Well done!
