The Glacier Ice Impact Hypothesis

The Glacier Ice Impact Hypothesis proposes four mechanisms for the creation of the Carolina Bays and the Nebraska Rainwater Basins. First, one or more extraterrestrial impacts on the Laurentide Ice Sheet by the Great Lakes ejected pieces of glacier ice in ballistic trajectories. The secondary impacts produced seismic vibrations that liquefied unconsolidated soil. The oblique impacts of glacier ice on viscous ground created inclined conical cavities. And finally, the inclined conical cavities, also called penetration funnels, became shallow elliptical basins by viscous relaxation.

I have mentioned in the comments on previous videos about the steam bubble that was created by the impact. In my amateurish research into the volume difference between water and water vapour I have found a wide variance ranging in between 1:1000 to 1:1700 of water to water vapour. The expansion effect of the water vapour is the driver for the propulsion of the ice and interests me as I am a fridge mechanic that knows intimately about the expansion of liquids to vapour. The sheer volume of water vapour produced would mean that over the distance from the base of the vapour bubble to its crown, the air pressure would differ leading me to think that the expansion ratio would far exceed 1:1000 and may elongate the bubble. Also, the laminated ice layers may resist the lateral expansion forcing the ice to be undermined at the point where the glaciers connect with the ground. As the ice is undermined it generated lift and started pushing the ice skyward . It also may explain features found in the Hudson bay region that suggest that as the ice that didn't get expelled returned to earth, it trapped water underneath under high pressure and forced channels to form in the ground and bedrock. Once again I love your work and wish you a speedy recovery and many years of semi-retirement.

Again, Mr Zamora, I thank you for your wonderful contribution to knowledge. Pleased to hear a pacemaker is overcoming your aging cardiac wiring and allowing your otherwise well-functioning pump to keep doing it’s work. I so wish you could be honoured by the wider academic world, however, given what passes for academia now, and the jealous guarding of established “wisdom”, it may not happen quickly. Like Alfred Wegener, I fear your fame may be posthumous (apart from the small group of people, me included, for whom you are already famous). Well done.

I’m glad to hear Antonio that you are healthy recover and will be with us for many more years promoting your explanation for the Carolina Bays. Anyone who plays golf will see the same formations happen when the golf ball strikes the a wet saturated green with a ballistic trajectory(the green is constructed using sand). You get the raised lip and oval shape. The simplest answer is usually the correct one.

Just a regular non-scientist person here, but I find the whole topic of the Carolina Bay's fascinating . I live in Wisconsin, 10 miles off Lake Michigan so the impact had an effect to some extent on where I live even though we were under deep ice.

Good to see you back on deck Antonio, I was unaware of your health scare. I'm a triple bypasser of 18 years still standing, so understand your situation. All the best to you.
What many people don't seem to comprehend is the time scale involved, the velocity of the secondary impactors and the enormous amount of energy discharged into surface.
I think until we are able to actually see a live demonstration of an iceberg being accelerated to around 10000 kilometers per hour, and aimed at a marshy just liquefied landscape, there will be those who simply cannot imagine the tragic beauty of this earth shattering event. The most outstanding disappointment is that so little effort is put in by the scientific fraternity to cast aside the comical ex planations for the bays.

Dear Mr. Zamora, here is a small sign of friendship from France, to wish you the best of recovery and to thank you for your passion in sharing your hypothesis and your work on the enigma of the Carolina Bays and the impact of Younger Dryas!

Glad you're feeling better Antonio, and thank you so much for all the work you've done. I have forwarded your videos to a number of friends that I thought would be interested and they have all been greatly impressed. I agree, the Bays should be in textbooks.

I hadn't heard of the Carolina Bays before your videos, although I was studying the Pacific Northwest flooding and geology. Even to a layperson, this theory makes so much sense in explaining the multi-faceted questions posed by the phenomenon of the Younger Dryas . Real events do not often fit into neat tidy little boxes. In my mind, there is also the possibility of multiple "stray" burning cosmic objects air bursting or impacting further south (like Arizona, etc)east, or west, not only limited to the major impact(s) on the ice sheets/glaciers. So happy that you are recovering well!

Btw south of cherson near the river there are terrain features that look like carolina bays about 3 though eroded

Glad to hear that your recovery has been so successful and hope it will keep you advocating for the inclusion of the Carolina Bays Late Dryas Ice Impact theory in the ongoing geological discussion regarding their origins. Have faith in the truth, the scientific truth, prevailing. Cheers.

if a comet is mostly ice and dust, then maybe there have been many comet impacts in the past that are not recorded in geology, due to your discussion of how ice doesn't crater hard, dense materials.
