Why was the K-9 in the Jacksonville shooting airlifted via helicopter?

Gov. DeSantis signed a law that allows police officers to treat injured K-9s in the same way as human officers.

Who actually asked? Like who did this offend? How terrible of a person do you have to be to get offended that they used a helicopter to transport a SHOT K9 to a vet? He would have died if they drove. People these days drive me batshit crazy.

Because the the closest Vet Hospital, not clinic, HOSPITAL, was across the county. It took the helicopter over 10 minutes to fly there, that’d be a 30-45 minute drive depending on traffic
