This method really works! Apple makes this a very difficult process but I am so relieved to have finally found a tutorial that really allows you to set any song as your alarm for free. I did find that you have to export it as a ringtone in order to get it as an alarm option. I didn’t realize that was necessary.

Good video tutorial ! Helped to setup a wake-up alarm song to a music file that is available in the iPhone memory.
All that remains is to find an audio-file converter app that converts music files to a compatible format, ie : AAC or WAV, as MP4A is not a supported audio format.
