Elon Musk and Grimes Split

Following his split with Grimes, Elon Musk claims to be single and living in a "technology monastery." Elon Musk and Grimes are still "semi-separated" while pursuing their professions.

In a recent interview with Time's Molly Ball and Jeffrey Kluger for its annual "Person of the Year" issue, the Tesla billionaire recounted his separation from the singer and producer.

"Grimes and I are probably semi-separated," Musk said to Time. "We weren't seeing one other that often, and I believe this is a long-term relationship since what she has to do is largely in LA or touring, and my job is mostly in distant regions."

Musk described the issue to Page Six in September, telling the publication that he and Grimes had chosen to part ways after three years of dating. He claimed at the Time that they still loved each other and were "on fantastic terms" as they joint parenting of their 18-month-old kid.

Musk acknowledged in December of last year that he had relocated to Texas after a months-long fight with the state of California regarding pandemic lockdowns. After claiming to "own no house," he sold his $100 million real-estate holdings in California and stated he was renting a $50,000 small prefab home.

Grimes, for her part, has been putting out new songs. The lyrics of a new song, "Player of Games," seem to hint at her connection with Musk: "Baby, how can I compare / To the adventure out there? / Sail away / To the cold expanse of space / Even love couldn't keep you there."
