RJ's Quick Disconnect Sway Bar / FULL ARTICULATION / Jeep XJ

A really cool Sway Bar Disconnect made by a guy called RJ in a fabrication shop in the USA. He makes some really nice things for his XJ and hes kindly sent this sway bar locking hub prototype over for me to install and test on my Jeep XJ.
Its a pretty awesome bit of kit that disconnects with an Aisin Hub so it takes just a few seconds to do. This should be a big upgrade for my XJ given that I transition between main roads, forest roads and dirt tracks on most trips.
Thanks again RJ!

What an amazing design for a disconnect swaybar.

Your build is absolutely awesome, still watching every single second and enjoying how your XJ is evolving. Mine is going slow, but getting there

When I first saw the pics you posted of this disconnect I thought- Genius! Pretty cool of this RJ guy to repurpose a locking hub.

Nice rig. I like this option. I ended up going with swaylock. But I didn't know about this. This is pretty cool

I'm now imagining that with a little elec motor to do the switch and a button on the dash :)

That's by far the coolest xj sway bar I've seen. I've ran my xj for many years with no sway bar at all and just fancy shocks but with my current overhaul I installed a anti-rock sway bar to try out. I've never wanted a sway bar I've always tuned my alignment and shocks, I got even better shocks this time too they are fox 2.5 reservoir shocks with a high and low speed adjustment custom valved for the specs I gave them. But I see a lot of high end builds running sway bars like the anti-rock and supposedly the anti-rock never needs disconnected you tune it by choosing which hole to put the end links and that changes the leverage or something. I'm also running 37s now and much heavier axles so I thought it might be good to install a sway bar at least to try it. This sway bar looks similar to the anti-rock but is able to be disconnected and looks much more sturdy, I think this is an awesome idea. I may have to look into one of these if I end up liking having a sway bar although I'm not sure how it would fit because I've done a lot of modifications and no longer can use the stock sway bar mount locations but it should be easy enough to make fit. This is a brilliant idea, I do think the torsion bar style sway bar like this is a superior design you can even replace the bar with a different one to change spring rate.

Your jeep is not leaking it's just marking its territory. Awesome mod too! It has always been said "necessity is the mother of invention ", so then laziness must be its grandmother.

Lol. This is so cool. Great idea. Big Tires will hit hubs though . I think 33in tires will bash the hub

I run mine without any sway bars and it's fine. I got used to it. It makes for a much better ride too. I don't run very fast, it's a Jeep...

Great design, although the clamping joint on the fixed arm looks like the weak point for me.

Fantastic XJ. I am currently running a JLU but it reminds me of past X J 's. If I had one like yours I would still be in it.. Can you send contact info for RJ 's shop. Looks like the perfect sway bar set up.
