Lawrence Bonassar, Ph.D., Associate Professor of Biomedical Engineering, describes a cutting-edge process he has developed in which he uses a 3D Printer and "ink" composed of living cells to create body parts such as ears.

I wish they had this when I was a kid. The reconstructing options they had when I was younger were untested and had a lot of unwanted, potentially painful side effects. I'm glad this is happening now at least. I hope they are able to help a lot of people moving forward.

I can see the future of this implants, I wish this could be used to help people that got butched nose jobs. I am one of them as a result I was imprisoned in my own home due the deformity of my nose. Just a year ago a Dr in Mexico did a surgery, still my nose is botched since I do not have cartilage on the sides of my nose, but at least I can now go out. Blessing and success to this amazing project

they started with the ear, because it looks difficult oin the shape but has a easy cell strukture - perfekt to start with - but in case you want a new heart, you have to wait some years, but I bet they are woring on it ;)
