VAT on digital services?
The House of Representatives approved on the second reading House Bill 4122, which seeks to impose a 12% value-added tax on foreign digital services like Netflix and Spotify.
If signed into law, the measure will include nonresident digital service providers such as video-on-demand subscriptions, and online advertisements, among others. All digital service providers are covered except for those that will be used by educational institutions.
