Join us for a travel day with stunning views of Taiwan as we take the bus and train to get from Kenting to Taitung. We hadn't heard of a train with ocean views before, but this one came with plenty. Today we leave Kenting, take the bus for Fangliao, where we head to Taiwan's beautiful east coast, where our first stop will be Taitung. The views from the train are especially beautiful with mountain views on one side and ocean views on the other side.

We will be staying in Taiwan for the coming weeks/months. If you want to discover what it is like to live as a foreigner in Taiwan, what daily life looks like (costs, apartment, etc.) as well as exploring some of the beauty Taiwan has to offer, then subscribe to our channel.

In Taiwan, when you see the bus coming, you need to raise your hand and wave to the driver to get on the bus. This is very important. If you were only standing at the bus stop and not waving to the bus driver, he would think that you don’t want to take the bus. This is weird but true, because many bus drivers pull over based on whether someone waves to him.

You guys are realistic, not like other travel influencers who only focus on flashing the luxury travel lifestyle. I feel your work is genuine. Keep it up.

1. Please remember raising your hand and waving to the bus driver when buses are approaching, then the driver will know he/she must stop the bus for you.
2. Can try 18-day Taiwan Beer👍
3. I don’t like waiting for buses either, only feel better when I’m in Taipei area (cause there’re arriving times on electronic bulletin boards.)
4. Scenic spots recommend: 清水斷崖、伯朗大道

Thanks so much for the videos. In this difficult time we all get a little discouraged when we can't do what our hearts desire. I live in South Korea, but am from the US originally. I like traveling around Korea but so many things are canceled and Seoul is having an outbreak. I have had to cancel our vacation for Egypt. Which is how I found your channel. I have been watching your YouTube videos as a way to explore virtually. Again, thank you for the videos.

I started following you as a result for a search of quarantine videos in TW. Since then I've been watching your videos. You're in a good place now and when the world calms down, you can leave this wonderful Oasis called Taiwan. To be honest, I've lived in NYC my entire life after immigrating from Europe. I'd love to retire and live in Taiwan.

You have to wave your hand to stop the bus. The train is loud because it's running on a diesel engine.

或許當環島一圈後,國際情況或有大的改變(希望是變好)
總之,台灣人說的一句話"既來之,則安之"
加油!你們的每個影片我都有看喔!

It’s still quite positive that you are showing the real side of lives in this video. We are all humans and nothing wrong about having emotions. Videos on social media should not only have shown the bright cheerful and happy part as it’s not always the case in reality. There are of course ups and downs especially when you are backpacking under the pandemics filled with so many uncertainties. Please keep the spirits and travel safe especially. 💪🏻💪🏻

台灣夏天的濕熱也可能是心情糟的原因
連台灣人都受不了
The hot and humid summer in Taiwan may also be the reason for the bad mood.
Even Taiwanese can't stand it sometimes.
Its really hot recently.

Don't dilute your spirit, you are one of the very positive couples, I have come across, and in these troubled times, you are a whiff of fresh air and watching your videos is a treat . I can understand at times traveling may become bit monotonous and tiring for you, but then it was your choice, and due to that sole reason you are in such a lovely, corona free country, you have no clue what is happening elsewhere at the ground level across the world .So, stay safe and keep travelling and blogging .

It's hot and humid this season in Taiwan, backpacking is not easy, that will make you feel tired and frustrating. especially when things are not going well as you expecting. But think of the bright side, you are can still travelling in this island, one of the most safe place in the world now, small but safe, and you can go anywhere you like., enjoy the nature 、the food..still a lot to explore. and you are welcomed here. People are friendly and nice and love your sharing. Take easy and enjoy the process. Have a good sleep tonight, and try good food tomorrow ! Cheer Up! Love you two!

Thanks for sharing the tough and stressful day you have experienced. That do let us know what it might happen during traveling. Really appreciate your honesty in video. Enjoy the peaceful Taitung. And good luck in the trip.

Hi Kim, the train you took was at least 22 years old(oldest of the kind is 38 years old), and it's diesel. That's the last part of railroads in Taiwan that isn't electrified, so the trains there tend to be noisier. I think the government is working on electrifying the railroads there, so they haven't bought as much newer diesel trains that are quieter. Sorry about the bad train ride experience 😅 Hope the view makes you forget about the noise
