The east coast of Taiwan (台灣) is full of beautiful nature, including its most famous treasure Taroko National Park (太魯閣國家公園). You can visit here as a day trip from Taipei (台北) but it's worth giving yourself more time to enjoy the coastline, mountains, and natural beauty. We're taking a road trip from Hualien City (花蓮市) to Taroko Gorge (塔羅科峽谷), a narrow gorge made of marble.

I spent 2 years in Taiwan, most of the time in Tainan, but 5 months of my time was spent in Hualien, and Taroko Gorge was my regular go to place, one of the most beautiful places anywhere. The Taiwanese are the warmest, nicest people anywhere, and the best food in the world. I love Taiwan and miss it

We lived in Taiwan for several years and were very lucky to have Taiwanese friends who accompanied us on several trips to Hualien and Taroko gorge. Beautiful and we love Taiwan and the people. Miss it a lot!!!

Just discovered this wonderful video. More than 50 years ago I hiked through Taroko and stayed overnight at a missionary's hostel before hiking back out. I cherish my hundreds of slides from this experience, and it was a delight to see, even in the rain, some of the infrastructure improvements that make Taroko accessible. My Toronto-born wife enjoyed your video also.

I was doing that trip this year in February. It was incredible!!! I love Taiwan...I've been there twice and every time is better....I would love to spend more time visiting each city...so next year I am going back. Have fun!!

I’ve done this on a scooter a couple of times. Too bad you had rain. I was luckier with the weather. It’s a long ride to the gorge from Hualien but it’s worth it. I’ve been to Taiwan seven times and I love ❤️ it.
