Isn’t it ironic that the people who call others “Uncle Tom” are actually on a different side of the narrative than they think..

Thanks for this. Lots of people who have never even read the book continue to caste the heroic Uncle Tom as a traitor.

Been telling people to read this book for years, never used that term because I knew it's history.

Read the book. Uncle Tom was a Godly man, a strong man, a admirable man. I also read Henson's story. Truly an amazing man.

👍Well I certainly learned something new!!! Goes to show how people will change a story to benefit themselves. It also goes to show that what my mom always said was true...”read and learn for yourself...don’t always believe what people say, find out for yourself.” I need to research this further for myself. 🤗💞🤗

I'm amazed by how that man, being a slave, has better use of the English language than most high school graduates and many college graduates of today.

This book has been bashed by so many people that haven’t even read it.

Our people have survived so much, God Almighty, I can't imagine that cruelty and atrocious treatment.

The slave owners that mistreated him gave him his freedom accidentally by letting him hear the word of God. What a cool historical figure.

So much to say. It makes your heart swell. What a wonderful, diligent servant of Christ.

And I always loved the reference in "Anna and the King". 😊 it always tickles me when the king doesn't want his son to read the book because he's guilty. If slavery isn't wrong - why be so covert? God bless Josiah.

My dad made me read this book, changed my mine forever, if you’re a black or white person and have not read this book, ....I suggest you read this book it will make you rethink a lot. I began to correct people, and still receive pushback. I highly urge you to read this book!

I've heard this story. It's amazing how this has become a canard against blacks who don't fall in line with monolithic racial thought.

Unfortunately, this isn't the story that I know. The school system is so messed up that the truth doesn't matter to most people. Bless the author that wrote that book in a time where slavery was okay. Thanks, 700 Club for such Christian values. God, bless!
