What if Darth Vader used the world between worlds to travel back to the clone wars and forced his memories and knowledge into his younger self? I figure Vader wouldn't be able to pull off an essence transfer but he could shove some, if not all, of his memories and knowledge into his younger self and hope for the best.

Obi-Wan's biggest mistake was abandoning Anakin in that moment, and his second biggest was not finishing the job then and there after such a betrayal.

Obi-Wan's BIGGEST mistake, I feel, is that at the end of the duel, when he tells Vader that Palpatine is evil, and Vader responds that from his POV, the JEDI are evil, just yells at him, "Well then you ARE lost!!!" Even his own brother Obi-Wan had turned against him. Kenobi, The Negotiator. Instead of getting to the route of Anakin's problem, insted of asking WHY he did all this, instead of being a sympathetic "brother" who wanted to help his friend with his problems, Obi-Wan immediately damns and condemns him. Had he been more compassionate and "diplomatic", he could have engaged Anakin in discussion, discovering what tuned him into this, and that he would help Anakin in any way he could to help him in his situation. THAT would have been what a true JEDI would do.

I can feel a lot of angst upcoming in this one. Anakin and Obi-Wan both deserve better. They both are tragic victims who suffered too much and deserve better. They both had their failures and could have made better decisions but they both were men suffering from their deeds.

It would be great for the new legs to be pit droid legs. Obi-Wan explaining that it's the best they had on hand, and that he would take him to the temple for better replacements if "someone" hadn't destroyed it.

While I don't always agree with your what if ideas one thing I always do appreciate is that you actually understand Anakin. Too many people write him off as whiney and emotional but don't understand the things he went through or that he's always been a good person. You're definitely becoming one of my favorite what if writers. You could end up being as good as Star Wars theory if you keep going. You're not far off.

What if Jedi Master Fay were to train Anakin though, she was possibly the purest and most in tune with the force of all the Jedi

I have a weird but fun theory. What if Anakin trained Anakin? The premise is that after the events of The Ones, the Son, with one last time manipulation trick to mess with The Chosen One. A trap would trigger when the three Jedi leave his home. Instead of waking up with Obi-Wan and Ashoka on his ship, Anakin wakes up and finds himself at the front of the Jedi Temple on Coruscant just after The Invasion of Naboo. Once he understands where and when he's at, he would warn the Jedi of the upcoming clone wars, the fall and betrayal of Tyranus, and much more. This reveal would cause much uproar with the council and debates about whether he speaks the truth and who he claims to be. Medical test, Jedi are questioning him, sensing through the force if he's telling the truth, and other Jedi Masters talking to Sifo-Dyas and Tyranus to confirm his claims.

Once Anakin proves true, while it goes against Qui-Gons wishes, it may be more effective to train his younger self. After all, who knows and understands himself better than, well, himself? Adult Anakin would be saddened by the loss of his wife, his former apprentice, and the relationships he forged with others who see him as a stranger, especially his former master. Unbeknownst to Young Anakin and maybe even The Council, Adult Anakin would free and relocate their mother off Tatooine. So that way, his young version would never have to endure that same pain. Anakin may even plan off-world "missions" for both of their delights.

Padawan Anakin will be much more centered than his older self in a twist of fate. Never having to lose his mother, knowing someone understands his love and approves of it, someone who understands him. He even had fewer doubts and judgment from other Jedi due to his age, thanks to how well his adult version grew and acted. Young Anakin would view and respect his mature counterpart as his master, brother, and even father-like. That isn't to say both do have moments of hijinks, which did get frowns from the other members of the order.

The Jedi Order would train more for the upcoming conflict, instilling and mastering Form III and V. Tyranus may not fall to the dark side, and many more Jedi will survive the clone wars. Even though Jedi armor may be developed, while not liked by the order as it takes away from their peacekeeping role, Anakin will insist the armor should be worn since the battles ahead will be vicious.

Palpatine will have to go for Maul since he couldn't recruit Tyranus. As well as get a new pawn to lead the Separatists. While he may try to get Adult Anakin to become his apprentice, Palpatine has nothing to get him to fall. His mother is saved and can't use Padme, at least not in the same way. However, one new or better opportunity does emerge. If he does get the Clone Wars started, he has a better chance of blaming the Jedi Order because they prepared for it long before it happened.
