We all know people from different parts of the world, and you might even have friends whose parents are from different countries. So what is it like growing up in a mixed family? In the first episode of a new What's New series, fifteen-year-old Tillie gives us a tour of her favourite Ghanaian food shop and explains the obstacles she faced growing up with two different cultures. BBC What's New's Nora went to meet her in Leeds which is in the north of England. Produced with CBBC's Newsround.

As long as children are raised with balance, it's actually an advantage. She's part of two worlds. There should be no clashing. Teachers etc need to expand their horizons and be open to being educated about different people's natures and cultures.

I'm from Leeds and I would love to go to Ghana because the people are very friendly and the nightlife is amazing. I love Ghana because Asamoah Gyan used to play for my football team Sunderland and I loved his energy and goal celebrations.
