5:49 TAFI cleave C-terminal lysines on fibrin, reducing the number of plasminogen and tPA binding sites on fibrin. Otherwise nice video! Keep up the good work!
Also Thrombin activates TAFI in the presence of the cofactor Thrombomodulin (integral membrane protein expressed on the surface of the endothelial cells)

Thank you so much!

I’m wondering if this molecule, PAI2 is used to design an agent that would be a theoretically more specific antidote for tPAs than the Anti-fibrinolytics!

Thrombin along with thrombomodulin causes conversion of procaroxypeptidase into carboxypeptidase as it name suggest it's going to cleave the carboxyl terminus lysine residues of fibrin
which were the binding site for plasmin.

I was diagnosed with PAI-1 5G/5G blood clotting disorder. I'm not a student, all of this went way over my head. I was just given the diagnosis without any explanation as to what this means. Could that be why I can't stay pregnant beyond a week?
