How To Get Started Live Coding

I've been live coding for over a year on Twitch. I know a ton of you want to get into it. Here you go.

Use this video to go from "I have no idea what twitch is" to "all I have to do is click this button and I'll be streaming!".

READ THE PINNED COMMENT FOR THINGS I FORGOT.

This video covers pretty much everything I think you should be aware of before your FIRST stream. There's a lot more you can/could do, and as you advance in your streaming career you'll find them out, but this video will absolutely give you enough for your first few months.

You can do this. Don't doubt yourself. Don't be afraid. I know it's so incredibly difficult to press the start streaming button. Some days it's still hard for me. But what lies on the other side of that button could be one of the best decisions you've ever made.

"It'd be crazy not to do something just because you're scared" - Ludwig Ahgren

THINGS I FORGOT:

* SET THE CATEGORY ON YOUR STREAM TO "SOFTWARE AND GAME DEVELOPMENT". Without a category it's almost impossible to be found.

* When it comes to titling your stream, try to keep your title under 32 characters (at least the clickbait part) - this is roughly the length twitch cuts if off at in the preview, so it helps get you more viewers.

* Make sure to copy the Alerts source into all of your scenes, and keep it on the top !

* If you use Krisp, you have to swap your microphone to the Krisp Microphone in OBS, and make sure to actually turn on Noise Cancellation in Krisp lmao

Amazing bro you def inspired me to start streaming, i'm more drawn to streaming on YouTube but a lot of these tips are agnostic of the platform.

Thank you Rox, continue to rock on bro

37 minutes and 43 seconds of amazing content! Wish I had this for the few streams I did. If anyone mentions that they want to start live coding I'll send them here! Great job Rox!

Adding to the background music: If you have background music, definitely side-chain it to the microphone, so you don't have to shout over your music and people can understand you more clearly!
Generally to sound input, best mic peaks in the yellow area, when you talk a few sentences in your normal pace, so it's neither overdrive nor too silent.
