Off Roading in the G-Class -- Mercedes-Benz Luxury SUV

Why do we keep making the G-Class Luxury SUV? Because we live in a world where there's still so much to be discovered. We modify, we refine and we perfect, all in the name of continuing the adventure. And with each step on that adventure, we learn more about ourselves and find more ways to modify, refine and perfect. It's an epic journey with no end and that's why we keep going.

Above and beyond? Who stole that slogan? MB or LR?

Anyway, we should all thank MB for continuing the G-Class and staying true to the GL's off-road persona and masculine styling.

I think Mercedes should be more active in pushing journalism of this car. **in my opinion** it kills the range rover. Utter sophistication. If the long wheelbase range rover sells well then Mercedes needs to enter the market of long wheelbase lux SUVs before Porsche or Audi/BMW (even though Audi & BMW probably won't even skim the current level for another few years). I'd very much like to see an extended G wagon, or at least the seats pushed back. (if that's possible with the wheel arches) I think if Mercedes was to somehow retain this solid design while slightly widening the car for a very upscale/limited market, I think they may be able to tap into this realm that Range Rover is creating. Range rover has issue of the sport model appearing to be more expensive than the flagship model to the average bystander. The G Class appears exquisite and doesn't have the issue of having a lower cost model that is styled just as well. Mercedes has the potential. Because of the G class being not as wide as the range rover, there is the issue of creating a small console between the seats and keeping a comfortable, isolated feel for both rear passengers. Perhaps, rear-facing seats with a partition from the front, Staggered seats (which could be revolutionary, both rear seats not having to worry about sliding the front seat up like the back left passenger has to in a sedan, where potential passenger space is finite, the SUV has trunk space to be filled by a staggered seating arrangement.), or a small deployable partition that can be raised from the console to adjustable heights, to make each passenger either eluded into a larger space by a glass roof, or increase the isolation factor. Mercedes has the opportunity to create a revolutionary vehicle for chauffeured passengers in the upscale SUV market.

Nice SUV, but I wouldn't take a $100, 000 vehicle off-road.
