A new mainline gun Megatron would be so good in todays engineering. I wouldn't mind him being a voyager who downscales to a deluxe sized alt mode when transformed into gun mode that way he would be too small for it to be mistaken.

This little guy is one of the best Legends/core class Megatron ever.

Honestly the gun fits Megatron so well as it fits the villain motif of his character (as he's literally named after the megaton bomb) and it shows how much he has faith in his comrades that they'll never throw him away despite being a group of backstabbing brigades due to being afraid of what will happen to them if they do. Although the modern form of a tank still fits that role as although it no longer shows his trust in his allies it shows how fiercely Megatron is in battle where he absolutely doesn't care about who he runs over. You will truly treat him with respect unless you want to be blasted in the face by overwhelming firepower and then rolled over just like a pile of rubble.

I can’t get over how much better that lil Megs is compared to the original 84 release. Scaled up with some added articulation and accessories (gun barrel flipping to his back too) and you’d have a near perfect CHUG G1 Megs.

Unpopular Opinion: I have absolutely no problem with Megatron turning into a tank instead of a gun, because (a) it makes more sense, story wise, and (b) cops will not hesitate to shoot you down if you have anything remotely resembling a gun.

I think another reason why Hasbro doesn’t want to do guns again is because it’s generally harder to design a transformation for that rather than a tank.

The masterpiece Megatron turns into a gun and it’s difficult to do and paint can chip.

I found this guy in a close out store back in the day and it fell out of the bag somewhere between the store and the car and I never found it. I was crushed, because, as pointed out, getting a Megatron that turns into his OG form is very rare. It was only like $5 but man. losing that $5 hurt more than losing thousands.
