I keep the celery and carrots wrapped in foil like the lettuce they will keep in the crisper drawer this way for a month

Just a little tip you don’t have to pour out any of the milk the little indentations in the side is specially designed for that giving it room to expand in the freezer.

I use heavy cream for my coffee each day (so clearly it takes awhile to use it up). I prefer to buy a half gallon at Costco. My mom (how do they always know everything? 😊) taught me to pinch the carton top with a clothespin to keep it sealed tighter and last longer. I found that helpful and took it a step further-I split it into two quart sized glass mason jars with plastic lids. One goes to the back of my fridge so it has less change in temp from door opening and closing. It is VERY rare that any of it starts smelling funny. If any, it’s the bottom of the barrel, just a few tablespoons worth. For me, I just hate shopping so I like to go as little as possible. I usually go twice a month, tops. Plus, groceries are expensive!😅😂😂

For letuce, I put them in damp cloth in my fridge It last longer and keeps the crunchiness of it ! When your letuce is a Little bit sloppy you put it in your sink full of cold water. After few hours you will have a brand New letuce ! Sorry for my english I am from France

I hope this might be of value. Wash all of your produce in vinegar. The bacteria that would cause the vegies to go bad is washed away. Then package it with paper towels or napkins.

Just an fyi, the FDA doesn't recommend storing Avocado in water because it can lead to bacteria growth.

🇦🇺When I was little we lived in a small town in the Northern Territory (NT). Daily waters had 27 people in it. My parents went to the shops every 3 months as the closest store was 3 1/2 hours away. Occasionally my dad would fix trucks or machinery for cattle stations and get meat in return.

I store my avocados whole in my crisper drawer for my veggies in the fridge. They stay hard for a very long time. When you want to eat them place them on the countertop to ripen up.

For lettuce I cut it up and put in mason jars and vacuum seal the lids. It lasts for weeks like that.
