SE user for 2 years excited to receive my iphone 14 😊 SE is almost perfect for me except the battery life which is a trade off because of its price and small form.

I have the se 3 and literally just got the 14. It’s setting up rn just downloading my data from the cloud, soooo excited to use it for the first time! The se3 is great, but the battery life and screen size wasn’t cutting it for me because I’m a heavy user. I’m gonna miss the se 3, but I’m so pleasantly suprised by the size of the 14, I thought it was gonna feel hugeeee in the hand but it’s really close in size to the 14, just the display is way bigger!

I think the iPhone SE 4 should adopt the chassis of an iPhone 12 mini not the iPhone XR as rumored.

I mean they have the same chipset inside and your speedtest shows that they are about the same but somehow you consider the SE3 to be “definitely not the fastest phone of all time”…

Honestly I feel like coming from iphone 6 after so many years (6+), the SE is a better choice. You're not getting much with the dual cam expect the film features you mentioned, but at 429 for the SE (cheaper than 6s retail), it'd be dumb for me to get a 14 instead of the 14 pro/pro max. The thing is those have a nice price tag with them that I'm not willing to pay on a phone I barely use anyways. My life has felt a lot better since I got my screentime to under 3hrs on average. For phone specs, they both have the same chip, the ram only matters if youre constantly putting your phone to work like with gaming as you mentioned, and my 6s camera is still able to capture beautiful shots and its so old lol.

I don’t know why people are so stuck on bezels=bad. Hear me out. First of all, a straight edge screen is less annoying and weird than the stupid notch, and those bezzles give you at least a little bit of something to hold onto. Now don’t give me that, “Well that’s why you put whatever case you want on it.”, and/or the weak argument about they make accessories to help with that (like pop its, lanyards, fold out finger rings and stands, and again, certain cases with similar such coping mechanisms built right in- for your “convenience”. The last thing I want to deal with when getting a new phone is having to buy a million and one extra accessories that are often expensive AF if you’re getting a new model phone (which most people are when they upgrade), and these days you practically have to buy all these various additional phone gadgets and accoutrements to even make effective use of the extremely expense product you just bought. For Christ’s sake, they don’t even include a charger for the device you’re dropping anywhere from hundreds to something over a thousand dollars on. Are you kidding me?

I digress. I’m exhausted with the daily battle with my the most expensive and high tech thing I currently own. Case or not, you bump any little edge in the slightest way- congrats! You just changed the video, clicked a link, closed a page, lost unsaved work, changed to some other app. And holding the phone horizontally to watch anything, play a game, whatever, is even worse. The fact that I have to think so actively about the way I even pick up my device so as not to trigger some sort of headache, is so absurd that I have no additional words for that. I loved Touch ID. The bezels gave my hands just a little bit of wiggle room to be the inevitability still human smartphone accessory they are. (Just go ahead and admit it now: You are literally more of a tool than you ever were before thanks to progress. Hurrah!) 😫
Speaking of hands, I now get pain in my hands from trying to use the bigger touch screen, and Im only using the standard iPhone 13 base model folks. Even with a stupid maneuverable aide stuck to the back of my case, it’s a pain in the ass to just use this thing. A pain in the hands rather.

Which brings me to this point- I don’t want to put a fucking stick-on lump of whatever on the back of my god damned phone!!! Can’t lay it down flat, can’t wirelessly charge unless I remove the case or shell out a shit ton more money for MORE add on accessories just to use something I already have to pay almost $1k for? What the actually fuck is wrong with this world? I’m only 36 btw. So I’m not really that old either. Anyway, with all that in mind, it turns out you can’t dress up your phone however you like after all. And most off of this stems from the novelty of an edge to edge display? Who gives a shit!! Hate to break it to you, boundaries exist in this world. Your phone display is gonna have to stop somewhere.

And taking away Touch ID is an utter horror to me. I’m an abuse survivor. I’d be willing to bet that without any further explanation whatsoever, there are other people out there that will unfortunately understand a number of reasons that change distresses me.
