Two thoughts:
- When Daryl said “I wish you were coming with” that had to have been a genuine emotion of him wishing Carol hadn’t backed out of their show together, but understanding why she couldn’t. Really cool writing, since I think most fans know the meta commentary at this point
- I think these 3 spin-off shows (Maggie/Negan, Daryl, and Michonne/Rick) are gonna be like an even bigger version of the Terminus storyline, where main characters are scattered to different parts of the globe in their own stories, but they’ll ultimately come back together again at the end for a final Avengers Endgame style “everyone is here” reunion. I feel like AMC has that idea in their pocket but is playing it close to the chest still, because they realized announcing the Rick trilogy was too early and they jumped the gun on it without having a plan formulated

I think those were real tears. 11 years of being together and saying goodbye is bittersweet.

His last scene had to be with Carol...it just had to. Look at them. How they've grown, how they've aged. There's absolutely no way Connie could have matched that Carol chemistry with him. They are both worried about what will happen to the other. Melissa McBride please take care of whatever u need deal with and then hurry on back. We need Daryl & Carol together... Watching each other's back.

Daryl came a long way from season 1 from an inpatient hating person to a caring loving, selfless person.

I don’t know how to describe how hard this ending hit me. The music and the 12 years of character development really makes me depressed almost. Thank you Walking Dead for everything ups and downs everything thank you! 😭

from the character who wasn't supposed to be in the show, to the one who stole the show.

The two most changed characters from the beginning.

I remember seeing Daryl for the first time. Barely had hair, was selfless and didn't care about anyone. But now look at him. All grown and caring and loving. This is some of the craziest character development I've seen in any tv show, movie, or game ever. Bravo and thanks for this amazing ending

Daryl: 'I iove you, ' this is the sweetest, loving Daryl we've become to love and adore in this series. I'm wailing up.

I like to think that 2:52 when Norman tells Melissa "I love you", that it was improvisation due to the really big beautiful smile she pulls and the massive sparkle in her eye. What an ending.

This scene was a real tear-jerker. I'm glad my wife was not home to see the tears in my eyes.
