Mustang EcoBoost vs Charger RT! 🏎️

Anyone here remember the SVO mustang? It was an LX, not a GT, but it had a 2.3L 4 cylinder with a turbo and put out the same horsepower as the 5.0L with 200 lbs less weight up front! It would accelerate the same as a V8 GT but in the corners would outrun a GT! They had a cool little offset hood scoop to feed the intake. Great little cars and they didn’t make a lot of them! They were only made from 1984 to 1986 and less than 10, 000 ever. Great little piece of rare Mustang history.

I've seen this happen and heard plenty of stories, and, most times, the hemi's will come back around in the top end. But it's hilarious that a 4-cylinder can even be in the same ballpark as a V8 at all 😂

The 10 speed trans is what makes this happen. It keeps that mustang moving right in the best part of its engine’s power band! All the torque and horsepower through each gear!

I used to gap scats in my Ecoboost. Around 90mph they would start to come around though

Idk why people are acting surprised, the mustang is a turbo charged 4 cylinder that makes 315 hp, the RT makes 375 hp but it weighes almost a 1000 pounds more. This SHOULD be a pretty even race

As a 3v mustang owner if i miss any of my shifts the ecoboosts will get around me but if i can get them all perfect then i can usually stay out ahead of them

I have a V6 charger, and it really is funny how similar off the line it is compared to the 5.7 chargers and challengers. I definitely get beat by them every time, but I’m still within a second or less.

I would take a Mustang over a Dodge any day but in this case a V8 is still tempting over a 4 cylinder, not because of the power but that sound is just too good in a V8

Funny enough I was thinking about this the other day since they both have near the same hp output and the mustang is lighter so it makes sense that it’d pull off the line
