Slowly and gently moving in a horizontal direction towards firmer ground can help to free oneself from quicksand.

Come out of hiding in the forest to confront someone breaking into the car, then hit him with a log and instead of disarming him of the gun that fell while he is on the ground you what, leave your things and run back again into the jungle you just came from hiding? The logic of this movie was wild.

the only thing this movie taught me is if you have no common sense, no survival skills, no self defense skills... do NOT go hiking in the woods and do do not go to another country where you are a walking sheep. Everything they did was completely avoidable.
