I think alot of people make the wrong assumptions when it comes to The Prototype and them killing Catnap in Chapter 3.

We learn that The Prototype gained the trust of one of the orphans named Theodore Grambell. Together they nearly succeed in getting The Prototype free. But at the last moment, something goes wrong and Theodore gets incredibly hurt. the Prototype chooses to save Theodore instead of his freedom, and is recaptured.

I personally think The Prototype skewering Catnap like he did was actually an act of mercy. Catnap/Theodore has done everything The Prototype has asked him to do. In the end, Catnap is electrified and set ablaze internally by the very gas he uses. I doubt anyone in the facility has the means of repairing any of them, given the 10 year deteriorated state of quite a few of the bigger bodies, and some of the other toys. It's likely Catnap would not survive his injuries in the long run, and would suffer in pain for The Prototype if it wanted him to.

Instead, The Prototype chooses to 'save' Catnap/Theodore one more time... By giving him a quick and merciful death by his own hands. Even skewering him through the gas vent in his mouth (and presumably also his brain), the source of what caused him to burn and suffer.

I don't think we'll see Catnap harvested the same way Mommy Long Legs or anyone else has been. I think we'll find The Prototype will lay him to rest in some way.

He mixed in the wrong chemical in his "magic floor cleaning liquid" (Dish Soap) Making Snares grow all over the Hotel! You and A-90 just got back at the Hotel from filming a Redbull commercial. I think we’ll find out if Poppy and Ollie are actually working with the prototype in chapter 10 because thanks to a YouTuber named Copper he said Mob Entertainment confirmed that there will be 10 chapters in the Poppy Playtime franchise (but it’s just a theory)
