S. 302 IPC is now S. 103 BNS
Indian Penal Code 1860 now stands repealed by Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita 2023.
Old section 302 which used to provide punishment for murder, is replaced by section 103 BNS, which provides death or life imprisonment and fine, for commission of murder. It also provides that in case of moblynching (murdrer by five or more in a group), each member of such group would also be liable to be punished with death or imprisonment and fine.
