Don’t know if you’ll read this, but your videos brighten up my days, whenever I’m feeling down I just re-watch your videos and they help, thank you for all the knowledge and entertainment you provide us with!

I think you put a lot of heart into the Tama Fibrestar. That one has my vote.

When I was in HS I worked fast food to buy a Tama Pewter kit like the one you have. I fitted it with Ebony Pinstripe heads on the toms. That is such an awesome kit and awesome color combo. I moved from NJ to CA right after HS, and I never saw it again. Left a hole in my heart.

Regarding your Imperialstar at 13:50 -
I've read lots of different theories or claims on what the Zola coat is really for. Some say it's just for cosmetics, others say it is for moisture protection, and others say it is to strengthen the shells to keep in tune under changes in temperature and humidity

I agree! I’m the original owner of a Yamaha 5000 from the early 80’s. It sounds SO GOOD(🤫especially with Evans heads) that I can’t justify spending money on a “better” kit. Love the video and the channel. You keep providing excellent content. Thank you!

Bryce growl/whispering "R Mama R" around 24:50 is the best part of this video. Shout out to mom!

Your Tama Superstar Dream kit (15:22) is the exact kit I played back then. I bought the kit with the double braced hardware and bass pedal for $1500.00 brand new. Did some touring and a ton of lounges. I did some recording at Tree Publications in Nashville (I think it was demolished and is now the Sony Studios) with it. Back then, almost every bar had a band. The bar you played determined how good you were in the public's view. Yep, that's my "Back in the Day" story.

Messing around with my snares, not paying a whole lot of attention to the video, and then you hit me with that IMPACT kit again. My God, I love that sound!!

Jesus. I watched the whole of this and then realised that I'd already seen nearly all the original posts of each kit. I could have been practicing that whole time... Fab stuff! Cheers.

I love your vids, Dave. Something about the way you are very nonchalant about everything makes them easy to watch plus you are a very good drummer. Recently I bought an older Yamaha Club Custom that was at a local pawn shop in mint condition, and the set is beautiful, but it has the best sounding kick I have ever owned. Plus it came with an 80s Ludwig Acrolite that just smacks so well. I only gave $150 for the whole kit because they had no idea what it is worth. Keep giving us these longer vids. They are a very welcome length since most of your vids are rather short

You're one of the few people can properly tune North drums and make them sound good. Congrats!

I was just watching one of your older videos (from like 6 years ago) and some dude commented on how you should play your entire collection.

Can't believe you did it, madman.

I'd say the Tama Royalstar is my fave of the bunch. That Brazilian Grain finish is gorgeous.

David- you were a big reason as to why i started playing drums and got into producing music, n i was playing instruments before but your vids just made me want to experiment and give it a shot, now drumming is one of my favorite things, haah, anyways i just wanted to say that. hope youve been doing well too.. ive gone through a lot lately and i've ended up rewatching so much of yr vids and in general it just brings me up from points where i feel down. just wanted to say this. thank you.
