Fun fact: if your cat is a natural born scaredy-cat, they aren’t gonna want to interact with “new” and “strange things”. With any animal, they are naturally gonna be freaked out by new stuff. My budgies are little chicken shits when it comes to introducing anything new. They were even scared of a tiny toy skateboard! A NON-MOVING TOY SKATEBOARD!
It IS still possible to get your cat interested in that robot toy, it’s just gonna take time for the cat to get used to it. You gotta warm the cat up to it, help it understand that it’s not a scary intruder that wants to hurt it, that it’s a fun toy.
Though there is also the possibility that the cat prefers you over the robot. Playing with your cat is a special bonding time between you two and the cat might rather spend time with you instead of a lifeless machine.
Its like a little kid wanting to spend time with their mom or dad. You know that feeling.
