A pattern that needs little introduction. Originally designed by the legendary John Barr. The Copper John has been a staple in our fly boxes ever since it became famous in the early 90's.

This is a heavy fly, designed to get down and under the current when fishing streams. Interestingly, it's proven quite effective in Icelandic mountain lakes. The reason being that it does a good job imitating the Lepidurus arcticus, commonly found in lakes high above sea level in Iceland.
