I have been hounding down information on how to grow these and your video is by far the most informative! Thank you.

Great plant to grow. I grow this too. Delicious fruit! I've found it really helps to prune all the crazy growth or else it takes forever for the fruit to ripen. Hope you give us an update in a few months!

Thats awesome! I started growing fruit trees in pots and had some amazing results. Pot gardens can look more awesome then planted borders. I have 2 types of Physalis, I have the South American one Cape Gooseberry (Physalis Peruviana) and Chinese Lantern (Phiyalis Alkegengi) The peruvian one is a lot taller. Now I think the Bees have cross pollinated them and have an inbetween type. Unbelievably sweet and tastey.

Thank you for confirming that it's perennial in pots. I will try that.

Theres also a dwarf physalis and it produces more fruit than the standard bigger plant.

I'm growing these for the first time in my apartment :) placed all of the seeds of a fresh berry in a pot with a plastic bag over it half open and it sprouted after about a week! really excited to watch them grow bigger!

Based on what I've read...Your plants look like the physalis pruviana (cape gooseberry), which grows upright with leaves having a pronounced pointed tip. The physalis pruinosa (ground cherry) grows lower to ground in a flat like spread and leaves do not have that pronounced pointed tip. Fruit sweeter and smaller.

You said taking snippings to create a new plant, how do you go about propagating these?

How come the plants I see grow upright but mine is flat on the ground and seems to be more furry?

I have never grown physalis before. How close is that to the tomatillo. Looks a lot like it and it sure looks like a night shade plant?

Hi, how many days does it take for this variety to harvest from the date of budding?! Is this item delayed or is it fast! I have another very slow type!

Did you only plant one ?
Or did you grow a companion one for pollination ?
Some saying you get no fruit if you only plant 1.
That true ?

Are the covers also edible for the fruit?
