Don't go to visit Brandon, but do try the Columbian restaurant in Ybor. Alternative beach (better in my opinion) is Siesta Key Beach in Sarasota and they offer free parking.

Just want to point out that it’s not an hour to Orlando. I-4 is awful so it could easily be 2 hours if you go at a bad time.
Also Tampa has some of the best Breweries (Coppertail, Cigar City, Hidden Springs, 7th Sun)

I would only say probably 1/10 of Tampa Bay uses their blinkers. I’m from a state where you have to use your blinkers and everybody does, which is why we have so many Car Accident accidents here in Tampa

Been here 35+ years and they're a lot of hidden treasures, if you're here for the wildlife, go kayaking on weeki wachee river (about an hour drive from palm harbor north on US19), you'll see bald eagles (there's a nest you can see from the river) manatees, snakes, and maybe even a gator, although gators dnt particularly care for cold springs. If you want to see a gator in the wild go to Anderson park (palm harbor/ tarpon springs) or chesnut park (palm harbor/ eastlake area) around dusk, dnt go any later because the parks normally close at sun down. Always assume they're gators in every body of water in Florida, that's the best rule of thumb, and just because there isn't any in a retention pond today, doesn't mean there wnt be any tomorrow, they do move around. It's always a good idea to talk to the locals, they'll tell you where you want to go depending on what you want to do. Above all else, respect our state, our beaches and our wildlife and we will welcome you with open arms.

I should say that Disney World is not in Orlando, not even in the same county. Good news is that Disney is actually closer to Tampa than Orlando is.

@Wolters World REALLY enjoyed your video. I am a Floridian in exile (now in PA but get back at least a couple of times a year to Clearwater...in a couple of years will be retired and come back HOME! I would like to ask you: I have had a vacation planned for months, my granddaughter is SO stoked about going into the Gulf, seeing dolphins. My question is this; What can I expect (we aren't coming until July 18th but how are things trending) with the red tide situation? I don't want my peanut to see precious dolphins washed up on the beach, or manatees. If it is bad I will have to do the Aquarium in Clearwater and some of the things you covered in your great video. But if you could give me the straight 411 (was so brokenhearted reading about the girl who nearly lost her leg in Destin...believed the entry point being from a scraped toe! I can't fathom why the family did not head right to a LOCAL ER at the FIRST sign of illness: Increasing severe pain, not being able to walk---"Hello...McFly!!" Thank heaven that the girl is is recovered.
