As a conceptual designer, Jim gets to merge his artistic and technical skills on a daily basis. When the Top Gun: Maverick team needed a head-turning design to feature in the film, Jim was ready to deliver and Darkstar was born.

seeing Skunk works logo in that aircraft in the beginning in the movie, made me realize immediately that it’s gonna be a great movie, and it was.

The fact that the Darkstar fooled a Chinese satellite shows how realistic it actually is.

Some part of me thinks that this SR-72 is actually real. Remember when Lockheed Martin wrote an article about the SR-72? And immediately deleted after Putin spoke about their new Hypersonic missiles. I would actually believe that the mock-up plane behind him actually has engines, they even put the chocks between those wheels indicating that it's heavy. Why would they even make a real mock-up of it, wouldnt it be easier to just CGI them. The interiors are well detailed in the movie and even in Microsoft Flight SIm. But hey that's just a theory.
