This is an insane fast blues pentatonic lick that you can use in your playing. Eric Gales uses economy and hybrid picking for this lick. He is using the Blues scale but in a super fast way and it's really hard to understand that it's too easy for him. He is really one of the best guitar players in the world without any doubt.
I played with half speed and %25 speed and the guitar tuned half step down as Eric Gales.

Aren't there seven tones in that lick, not five?

E F# G A A# B D is not a pentatonic scale. Pentatonic scales have five (penta) tones. This is a septatonic scale, including a major second and a flat five in addition to the five tones of the Em pentatonic scale.
