I'm so glad the MMO was cancelled and they decided to go this route, it really is a terrificly fun game and a real hidden gem. It reminds me of Torchlight (when it was good) and Kingdoms of Amalur, probably because of the art style. I agree with everything said here, though I would like slightly more bang for the buck when it comes to ranged weapons. All in all though, i'm very glad i purchased it.

As someone who is about 10 levels into the game, I loved your take here, this is exactly what I've experienced. The "satisfying combat system" is dead on, from the animations to the skills for each character. I was actually kind of reluctant to try this but really glad I did. I tried it post revamp, and my only complaint is that I find the different gear components a bit baffling - the echo system, gloom stones, affinity, and ascended gear all involve components and there is no clear help system to know if you just haven't leveled to the right place to use points or if you are doing it wrong. My boyfriend can level his affinity, but mine is stuck due to a missing component... seems weird. But, it honestly doesn't take away from the overall experience, and some people enjoy figuring everything out and probably won't mind it.

I’ve been on the fence with this one and saw it shadow drop for Ps5 a couple days ago for just 25.00. Being they scrapped the entire live service and microtransactions, I think im gonna get it 🙂👍🏻I loved WoW and I seriously need something that’s like Diablo but isn’t Diablo so I can take a break from all that doom and gloom, blood and guts atmosphere. Lol

I enjoyed playing it. I got it cheap and had to live through some pre-quality-of life-updates issues. Most of the bugs seem to have been worked out now.

I have soloed all the content and leveled everything (I am a completionist so...) I think I am done for unless they come out with an update. I heard somewhere that there might be another map and another toon and larger apartment but I don't know if or when. All my toons and weapons are awakened and max level. My apartment is stuffed to the gills. I have all the skins and armor. I think I have most of the echoes and most of the epic accessories too. Needless to say I completed all 49 of the Steam things along the way. I have about 700 hours into the game.

I have never gotten the recipe for Golden Phoenix Oil to drop. One of the guys I play with got it so I know it is possible but I don't know how or where, as much as I have played this and farmed all the dungeons so many times I feel like I should have gotten it.

Even though there are 7 toons it really kind of felt like 3 or 4... yes each toon has their own mechanics and they are different but. The gun play is not has good as the action skill and melee IMHO. You can switch toons to suit a specific mission and there are some occasions where you might prefer to use one toon over another including using a shooter. End game all of the toons seem pretty good. I am partial to my Niss but I started with her.

Gripes are very specific for me, I play with a trackball so parkour is a bit of a challenge and there is parkour in this game. I feel if I can handle it (without rage quitting) I feel any can. There are also some resources which are dependent on something else happening like a specific mission spawning (that doesn't) which is annoying; the completionist in me found the resource farming tedious as I near the end of awakening weapons (but I was determined to do all of them so...) And there is one specific game crash that happens a lot, I am looking at you "opening a deceiver chest near the end of a dungeon." It is too easy to sell something you don't want to; I feel you should not be able to click through a favorite at point of sale-you should have to stop and unmark it first because when you are in a hurry playing with your teammates mistakes happen (and I sold my "Abandon Dedication" without intending to multiple times because it was first item on the accessories list); speaking of which I don't think you need 200 weapon slots as the game stands, but I think 200 accessories is NOT enough-I was forever high-grading trying to be able to pick up loot.

At the price I paid for it, I can't complain. I like this game and I hope the new map, toon, bigger apartment happen but if they don't I am not gonna be upset about it.
