Nice review I just got mine with a 4080 Intel i9 13900hx CPU with 32g ram and 1t ssd. It's great but man does the Alienware command center almost ruin the entire purchase for me... I'm a truck driver and use it on the go and half the time I'm having to mess with the command center.

I really do want to love this laptop. I originally bought one in September and now that it is December I have had 3 replacements. All of them have had the occasional stutter that you mentioned and as I used it the stutter became worse. This would happen during gaming, watching a video on Youtube, listening to music...ect. The laptop would freeze up a little and the sound become static like. I also experienced another issue with all of them whenever I unplugged or plugged in the charger if anything was playing: The sound becomes robotic and static like and the system stutters. For these issues on my original m18 in September I spent a total of 5 hours over 3 days on the phone with Technical Support. They took over remote access several times, looked into a number of issues and said there was nothing they could do on their end to fix it, so a replacement was offered. That is when I got Replacement #1. It had the same issue so a 2nd replacement was issued. When the same thing was still happening on my 2nd Replacement my issue was referred over to the engineering team and after the tech support guy collected some info from my system he sent it on to the engineering team. The engineering team came back and said I needed a charging port and a new motherboard. The parts were not going to be available until the new year so they offered to send me a 3rd replacement, which is what I currently have now. All the same issues remain. The charging issue and the stuttering issue. I'm calling in on Monday to see what is going to be done now with this.

I had a m15 for 2 years and I LOVED it, but it was so small and that is why I got the m18. Like I said I want to love this thing but there is just issues with it.

mine if you lay it flat hits 80 degree at idle but doesn't break 88 during gaming

I have this exact model and so far is been fairly smooth. I did get a random stutter here and there but hopefully it won't be a problem. I'm basically using it as a desktop replacement with a 1440p monitor.

I ordered one with a 4090 and the 13980HX. Mine has been sitting for a week in build finished ready to ship but has not shipped out (was supposed to 2 days ago). looking forward to playing with it

I have this exact same model with the Ryzen 9 7845hx and the Nvidia GeForcs GTX 4070 8GB Laptop gpu, with 32 gb 5800mhz ram and 1 tb SSD NVME. It is absolutely amazing. It runs like a dream and being able to use Microsoft hello is my favorite way to sign in with in 30 secs from turning on the laptop!
