ULTRAKILL Fan animation - Neverlasting Peace

The Earthmovers were the pinnacle of the arms race. Often called the horsemen of the apocalypse, it took only one to level an entire city and leave nothing but fire in its wake. The last era of the Final War had begun.

The first machines large enough to house a shield generator, these walking fortresses could only be made vulnerable from within, making them the frontline for smaller, more mobile machines. Due to their colossal size, they required both blood and solar power to function.

When the final era escalated, cleansing the world with fire, the surviving civilians were forced to evacuate and build new homes on the backs of these machines, as the surface became an inhospitable wasteland where no flora or fauna could flourish.

Eventually the soot, smoke and decay from unending global war would blot out the sun, casting the world into the Long Night, and Earthmovers, unable to feed on sunlight, shut down and died out one by one.

War had become entirely dependent on them, large scale conflict was no longer feasible. Finally, mankind started to work together to reverse the effects of the Long Night climate catastrophe, and so began the New Peace. 200 years of war for its own sake ended not with a bang, but utter silence...

...save for the laughter of a thirsting superorganism from the hereafter.

The idea of a sentry using empty uniform apparel to hide as camouflage because theres so much death and destruction is genius.

ok now I'm imagining that V1 new death screen is EVERY machine death screen, they don't want to die, they still trying to fight back, but failed and they can only screaming for their lives unlike V1.

Fun watch. Appreciate how the darkness grew around the earthmoving to show the sun being blocked out

Something i like to imagine about the gutterman is that the models we see in Ultrakill probably weren't the very first generation of guttermen put into production since they look too "advanced" for something built in the 1910s, even thought they have an inscription meaning "man tank 01" in their shoulder. It had a massive automatic gattling gun which was very unusual for that time period and a dome shaped head with optics that could see in every direction. That model seemed to be more specialized in taking down airborn targets than cleansing trenches in the way it reacts very quickly, even for such an old machine, while fighting v1 which on its own is incredibly fast and agile and of course, its head design and gattling gun would make it ideal for such situations. I imagine the very first gutterman sent to war as something similar to the one we see in game, but with a much smaller and primitive head foccused almost exclusively on tracking targets in the narrow pathways of the trenches, a Maxim machine gun mounted on its arm used to take down softer targets such as human soldiers instead of a high caliber gattling gun that could penetrate fucking guttertank armour as we see in game and would be overkill against humans lol and finally, a shield, because it just makes sense in the context it was used.

You just illustrated 200 years of war with all the tiny bits of info we had, and along with that made it concord with an already written book, and added your own style and references, and man you did a good job at all of theses

Love this roughly hand colored look, really gives the violence layer its feel
And the improvement on display over the last 3 animations is palpable, so good

this is PEAK, love both the new death message reference, the new drone designs, and the overall tone of this whole thing. it swaps from hope to pain to hope to emptiness over and over again, and then the final bit with v1 as a little cherry on top

you get four out of four marksman coins, keep cookin

I'd imagine the first part of this video is the first battle were the russians used Guttermen for the first time and at 0:33 is the first battle were the Guttertanks were used by the germans.

What's scary is that every damn machine when V1 enters, focuses on IT, because it's the most dreadful and dangerous to them machine. A machine that just like them doesn't want to die.

completely nailed the "soot and smoke blotting out the sun" look, insane graphical work here
