I think whether somebody has started stuttering since a very young age or when already grown, its a psychological problem, i used to stutter a lot since i can remember my life, now I'm 30 and i dont consider myself a stutterer cause i speak normal now but very few times i stutter when i just let my breath goes without any control or i try to speak so fast,
I think we stutter because we've learned to think that we are going to stutter, it's already in our subconsious mind and every time we statter we make that beleive stronger.
How i know that?
Cause, just whoever stutterer, just try to read whatever book you Will realize that even without saying any word in your mind you are already struggling with the pronunciation and get stuck already just in your mind, that's why i think we need to distroy and change that beleive that we can not speak normally and that we are stutterers, all exercices for mouth or pronunciation help a Little to improve, but are useless if we can not talk freely in our minds first, everything start in our mind, mind is so powerfull

Good Afternoon Minka, Early this June when I came for a Eval with my therapist she mentioned if I had a neurological issue and I wasn't sure. Do you recommend me talking to my Primary Care Physician about if I have that issue?

What about when it happens suddenly along with other neurological symptoms? Slowed thinking, pins and needles, tremors, etc.

I think i have almost the same situattion of stuttering. When i was 16 i started stuttering out of the blue, im 30 now and even though I learned to mannaged that when i was in the school, at work or with friends I don't know why i stutter really bad when I speak in my native language with my parents and when i'm speaking in english with no matter who, even though i know how to speak english perfectly. I wish you could get to see my message and you could gave me some recommendations to decrease this stuttering 🙏

It is difficult to say what is more prominent in determining the logistics of stuttering. I think it is psychological based and undermining confidence. But If neurological it would insinuate some interruption of neuron signal connectivity. Perhaps an unintentional suppressive memory block? It remains an anomaly but I would love to see more research put forth. I don't stutter but I do experience extreme social anxiety in communication with others and I have lived with clinical depression all of my life. In my experience it can be quite an effort in order to convey my thoughts without fearing judgment or without that thought in the back of my mind that the other person is secretly laughing. I think the more emphasis we place on something psychologically the more we cause an undesired physical manifestation.

Great awareness of the problem Minka. As I see it Neurology is the nervous system and when we face a challenging speaking situation our nervous system becomes physically aroused producing tension, shortness of breath etc. probably combined with genetic sensitivity that causes us to over react with these physical responses. Do this often enough and our response becomes habitual even to the point where the brain becomes alarmed if we are not stuttering! This is where it becomes psychological, Neurology and Psychology are inextricably linked. As most stuttering starts in childhood we do not understand what is happening and actively try to ignore it or pretend it is not happening as we progress into adulthood. At the age of 40 hopefully with a few more smarts than I had as a child or young adult, I too realised I stuttered less when relaxed so set about pursuing relaxation with a vigour. I tell my story of success at

Yeah I sure that stammering or stuttering has a nerological base where the speaking part of the brain is wired incorrectly, which causes stuttering, it isn't to do with aniexty and being shy, which people don't seem to understand, but also stuttering has an emotional impact on your daily life, feelings of shame and hopelessness and not loving yourself for who you are because of the negtive reactions from other people, to be honested I would rather have an other disability but stuttering because society understand other physical disability but people just can't understand stuttering, even a blind man who also stuttered said that stuttering was much harder to live with, even though I am not saying that other disability are easy to cope with because any disability is a hurdle to climb. often people just don't see the damage that a speech impediment does to a person.

Hello Minka;
Tell me one thing, have you noticed when you have been asked your name or asked to give an intro in front of an unknown
audience or any unknown individual, you will stammer the most and specially it becomes very difficult to say the first name.
Or when you are in a new class, and the teacher ask everyone's name one after another and when your turn comes closer, you feel that immense nervousness. But once its your turn and there is no other option than saying it, all of a sudden after saying your name you feel free and your original personality kicks into yourself but after a while again that fear sets in and your original personality goes way and back to same situation.
Felt in the same way right??

No one stutter out of the blue. Its immense suppression of your originality from external sources cause it.
What ever you say, your opinion, your reaction, your expressions are always wrong. And when it happens over a long
period of time, your inner self starts thinking that your own (original) way of expressing is wrong and you copy others
way of reacting or specifically that persons way from whom you got the maximum criticism or sometimes indirect threat. So you actually do, think and react the way that person would have been reacted if he/she was in your situation. So its a kind of a fear or consciousness that holds you from being yourself and expressing anything.
And when you try speak or express, your mind wants your originality but that consciousness dont let. So when you speaking to someone in reality this conflict comes into play and makes you stutter or stammer.
So its not neurological, not due to lack ability of giving speech or any kind of deficiency or lack of confidence.
You are completely confident and know what should be your opinion but simply you just not allowed to.
Its like your subconscious mind tells you that you are not suppose to be yourself and express.
So its completely psychological. Trust me on this..!!
And before 10 years of age your weren't old enough to have your own opinion and see the world through your own eyes
and the problem arises when you start seeing through your own eyes and that is not acceptable to that person or that group in particular.

Answer me one thing, do you live with your parents??
