I was an avid SCUBA diver when this came out. My dive shop had a couple of the ampules from the movie scene! I'm 75 now and I miss diving the Florida Keys.

The night this movie premiiered, I insisted to a friend that we see this...instead of the other movie playing...something about outer space...Star Wars I think it was called. My friend never let me forget it.

I never realized it was the Moray Eel. I had always thought it was supposed to be like a ghost or something spooky that was just left unexplained.
The eel makes more sense but I always liked the unexplained angle better.
