I remembered this recipe from a few years ago when Paula did in another video. I made it then and everybody still talked about that bread pudding to this day many years later. I saved the recipe and this Christmas, I will make it again only this time I will swap out the bread for low carb and the sugar for a keto friendly one. I imagine it will taste close and I cannot wait give it a go after many years of not making this bread pudding.

I made this twice with extra homemade cinnamon cranberry bread that was getting stale. The custard is delicious and the cinnamon bread with craisins instead of raisins gave it a real feel and smell of the holidays. My family loves it! I am definitely going to continue making this one! edited to add: I did not make the sauce topping and it was not needed but I’m sure it’s great.

As a child I would stay with my aunt in the summer. She would make bread pudding for me. Thank you for this recipe. Since her recipe included raisins I think that I will include rum soaked raisins in mine 😁

My Mom made almost the same sauce...but she added a smidge of nutmeg to it, too. Bread Pudding is my FAVORITE dessert 12:32😊

What a delicious recipe, Paula! I have to share my latest additions to my baking repertoire, which I have found irreplaceable. I now substitute Pure Vanilla Bean Powder, in place of Vanilla Extract, in a lot of my recipes. In my opinion, the flavor is more intense, and the vanilla profile stands out. I also have found various maple syrups processed in bourbon, whiskey and gin barrels, as a great substitute(has traces of alcohol) for various alcohols in recipes. It actually takes a lot of time(over 2 hours) to burn full alcohol out of food recipes. Thank you for posting your daily recipes. I'm a Southern cook, too.
