The race was fully cancelled, CART never raced there, and the only solution would've been fighter pilot G Suits. But asking a driver to sustain those G's for a period of 3 hours while trying to have a land bound dogfight was unrealistic. Couple that with what the cost of a G suit is, the series cancelled the event. Which was the smartest thing they could've done because it would've been a fatal crash mid race had they pushed forward with the event.
