Leap is one thing but implying that dismissing Mulcair was a bad tactical move is to misunderstand the direction the overton window is headed in Canada, and the west as a whole as millennials get more involved in politics. Things are moving to the left, hence the Liberal success running left of the NDP.

Whether you think Mulcair or the NDP strategists are to blame for his shift to the center, he is irrevocably tainted as a centrist candidate. If he ever tried to debate Trudeau on policies Trudeau would only have to bring up his many panderingly centrist statements from the 2015 campaign to destroy his credentials as a leftist.

Dropping Mulcair was the right move, and no one cares if it was "nice" to Mulcair, politics is not about being nice, it's about changing the country.

The NDP neither endorsed or adopted the LEAP Manifesto. They agreed to have it debated within their respective communities/ridings. It may be that none of its precepts are ever adopted as party policy, and many likely won’t be.

What about cancelling that GOP election in Colorado and giving all the votes to a tyrant special interests person?

I know Rex's business is politics, and it looks pretty bad the position the NDP has put themselves in, but we've got to take a step back here. Political capital won't mean shit once we've destroyed a good part of the natural balance of the world. Even if there are scientific uncertainties lingering, isn't it worth trying to clean up our act just "in case"?. The fate of the world is on the line people. And the lifestyle of the good people of Alberta, the well-being of the NDP, none of this means jack shit in the grand scheme of our 4.5 billion year old planet.

I like Mulcair's passion. Would never vote for him. BUT love his passion for what he believes in.

Sounds like they hurt the feelings of big oil and big banks. That should end well for everyone.

When I first heard about the Leap Manifesto I honestly thought it was the "Leaked Manifesto" because I just couldn't believe they had released it to the public deliberately.

The Leap Manifesto is a way forward, and I am proud that a majority of delegates who participated in that Edmonton vote gave the 👍 to that document. Green jobs and infrastructure don't just make environmental sense; they also make economic sense.

I wonder Rex would you agree to pay $4 per liter to have a good energy sector.. You should and be happy to pay that much at the pump so that the money in dividends will come around to tinkle up your RRSP.. Oh yes Rex we all know how money flows about.. yes it is 10% will come back to you the investor.. Oh wait you thought that 10% was of the 4 you paid at the pump... Lordy no it is not.. it is 10% after all the other take the cuts and run away with your money.. so in the end if you get 4 cents of which the liberals would cut a cheque to oil and gas.. Oh yeah to put in pipeline just to keep 150, 000 workers employed and Yes tax you the RRSP holder 40% on that 4 cents you got.. Yep now your down to 2 cents.. or less..

You should be happy to pay 4 dollars per liter at the pump Rex and demand it too.. Lite up the cigar and have puff and blow it in others faces while your at it.. The CO2 is of no harm to others after all. A cigar is like oil and gas it burns, creates heat and can fuel your car.. synthetic gasoline..
