Pet Shop Boys/The Schlager Hit Parade

This song is about Germany’s attempt post World War 2 to distance itself from its past.

“Schlager” (german slang for “hit”) music is typically upbeat, catchy, light and feel good.

Some fans really seem to hate this song because its cheesy - *intentionally* so in the Schlager tradition.

How you could like “Shameless”, but not this baffles me. The bassline is especially brilliant, and its incredibly catchy.

*Pure* PSB this song, and I adore it.

As all editors know, this ate up footage! I watched hours of Schlager, all so you don’t have to😂

This ought to be the official video, just add some Neil and Chris moments!

And VIVA TV in the 90's fulfilled the schlager spirit. Love your video.

Well, you really made an effort! Not sure if some German viewers will like the subliminal image of those Nazi-Soldiers, but I think it was Fun!

Your description isn´t quite right. "Schlager" doesn´t mean "hit" but usually folk or pop music sung in german.😊
